Chinlone. Absolutely the most beautiful sport I’ve ever seen.
There’s a video about the rules. For those too lazy or too mesmerized to watch, here’s a quick rundown:
- Players stand in the circle and take turns creating the most difficult and beautiful tricks possible.
- There are no teams, winners, or losers. When the ball hits the ground it is considered “dead” and play starts all over again.
- That’s it.
Maybe it’s not much more than mystical hacky sack. But any sport that encourages beauty and difficulty over everything else, even winning, is amazing.
Just watch that over and over and over again to absorb all that beauty. Simply incredible.
